Animals that can be found in and around the river

The Connecticut River, like any large river, is home to a wide variety of both vertebrate and invertebrate animals. This page will provide some images and discriptions of animals one is likely to encounter while diving or boating on the river. In order to better organize the information the page has been separated into the following headings, click the highlighted words to see more about that heading.

Note: some of the following links are still under construction, sorry for any inconvenience. If you are interested in contributing an article that would be appropriate for this page, please contact the editors. Both amateur and professional naturalists are invited to submit articles, and a modest honorarium can be arranged for original work.
