RIVER DATA - TEMPERATURE, FLOW RATE
For inquiries contact Ed Klekowski
Water Flow Rate, past and present. This link monitors the river at Montague City, MA. The water flow in cubic feet per second is given for the past seven days. The daily variations in flow are related to water impoundment and release at the power dams. To relate this data to diving conditions, check your dive log for the days when the river was great for diving and then call up those dates to check the flow rates using the historical daily means. A couple of comparisons should establish the best river flow profile for your diving.
Many of the more interesting dive sites in the river are bridge wrecks caused by the great flood of March, 1936.
The graph illustrates the dramatic increase of river volume during that March.
