499E - Research Methodology

ABOUT THE COURSE:
Research methodology is a year long 499 Course designed for Biology Majors who are members of Commonwealth Honors College and who are seeking to complete the Thesis portion of the DH requirements with a faculty initiated seminar course. Students who choose this option will enroll in 499E in Fall and 499F in Spring. To complete the 499E all students are required to complete Bioimaging laboratory class, in order to learn the needed microscopy skills to perform cell biological research. During the fall semester, students will initiate a literature review, learn about experimental design, and any additional methods necessary for the completion of the research phase of the project. In the Spring semester students will continue with independent research and write their thesis.

Prerequisite: Biology 285.
