Microtubule Nucleation and Growth

These movies show LLCPK1 cells expressing GFP-EB1, which marks the microtubule plus-end. The frequency of microtubule nucleation at the centrosome can be determined by counting the number of GFP-EB1 dashes emerging from the centrosome over time. The cell line used for this work was made by Drs. M. Piehl and L. Cassimeris, Lehigh University.
