The dynamic rearrangements of microtubules as cells enter mitosis are shown in the following movie sequences of prophase and prometaphase LLC-Pk1 cells expressing GFP-tubulin. Notice that some interphase microtubules rapidly disassemble while others form bundles or clusters that are moved toward the forming spindle.
