Global Invaders Project

Project Description :

POSITIONS HAVE BEEN FILLED FOR FALL 2015 - Please check back next semester!

We are looking for students interested in learning more about invasion ecology to participate in an ongoing project compiling lists of invasive plants. Invasive plants are species transported (almost always by people) into a new range, where they establish and thrive, often with negative ecological and economic consequences. You might think that we should know by now which plants fit that description, but unfortunately there are no comprehensive lists of invasive species - until we create one. This project will involve reading scientific literature to compile information about invasive species. Ideally, BURA students will also attend and participate in discussions during weekly spatial ecology lab group meetings, which are Wednesdays at 4 pm.
