:: Researchers Receive Grants for Biofuel Studies ::July 2007: Dr. James Holden, an Assistant Professor in Microbiology, received a grant from the Northeast Sun Grant Institute of Excellence, funded by the Department of Transportation, to study ways to enhance microbial cellulose degradation and hydrogen production above 80 degrees C. Drs. James Holden, Klaus Nusslein, and Patrick Schloss also received a Hatch grant from the US Department of Agriculture to search for cellulases in natural samples and cultured organisms that will enhance biofuel processes. |
