:: BioVeris Corporation Enters Agreement with UMass for Chlamydia Vaccine Patent Rights ::

May 2005: The University of Massachusetts Amherst and BioVeris Corporation have entered into an option agreement for exclusive patent rights to a unique vaccine candidate for Chlamydia. A team of researchers at the University led by Dr. Lloyd Semprevivo, will continue working towards the development of a Chlamydia vaccine. Microbiology faculty members, Elizabeth Stuart and Wilmore Webley are included in this group of researchers. Bioveris and the University of Massachusetts also entered in to a separate Sponsored Research Agreement in which Bioveris will sponsor research aimed at developing the Chlamydia vaccine.
