:: Chlamydia Vaccine Rights Licensed ::

December 2005: UMass Amherst has entered into a worldwide license agreement with BioVeris Corporation for patent rights to a proprietary chlamydia vaccine candidate. The licensing fee of $75,000 will be paid by Bioveris and will give the Corporation exclusive rights to commercialize products geared at prevention, diagnosis and treatment of chlamydial infections. Chlamydia is the most frequently reported infectious disease in the United States. Elizabeth Stuart, Associate Professor of Microbiology, and Wilmore Webley, Assistant Professor of Microbiology, are amont University researchers working on the Chlamydia vaccine. Read more...
