:: Jeffrey Blanchard Receives Distinguished Lectureship Award From Microbiology Graduate Students ::Dr. Jeffrey Blanchard was presented with the Thomas G. Lessie Teaching Award on February 3, 2007 at the Annual Microbiology Retreat. The Thomas G. Lessie Teaching Award in Distinguished Lectureship was established in 2006 and is given annually to a Microbiology faculty member for their impact in teaching at the graduate level. The award was named after retired UMass Microbiology Professor Thomas G. Lessie, to remember the breadth, impact and value of his physiology course. Courses from faculty members are nominated by the whole graduate student body and the recipient of the award is chosen by a majority vote at the monthly graduate student meeting prior to the Annual Retreat. |
