:: Scientist Studies Dying Mangroves::

July 2006: Microbiology Professor Emeritus, Terry Tattar, is leading a research team studying the die-off of red mangroves in Charlotte Harbor, Florida. In 2004, Hurricane Charley battered the Harbor killing nearly all red mangroves where Charley's eye wall and the strongest winds hit along the Cape Haze shoreline between Pirate Harbor and Punta Gorda Isles. The study is being funded by the West Coast Inland Navigation District.
