:: SunEthanol Gets New Name: Qteros ::

November 2008: On November 18, Governor Deval Patrick in his talk at the Fourth Conference on Clean Energy in Boston, Massachusetts announced the name change of SunEthanol to Qteros. SunEthanol was co-founded by Microbiology Professor Susan Leschine after her discovery of the Q MicrobeT near the Quabbin Reservoir ten years ago. The Q MicrobeT has the ability to produce biofuels through conversion of plant material to ethanol. The company has raised $25M in Series B financing from funders including BP and Soros Fund Management LLC. Leaders have recognized Qteros as one of the most promising emerging clean energy companies.
