:: Sandler Receives NIH Grant ::May 2006: Steve Sandler, Associate Professor of Microbiology and Interim Department Head, was recently awarded a five year grant from the National Institutes of Health. The grant entitled, "Localization of Recombination Sites in E. coli K-12,” will focus on the question of why the stoppage of some replication forks causes the induction of the DNA-damage inducible SOS response while others do not. The total amount awarded was 1.3 million dollars. |
