:: New Faculty Member Hired ::

March 2006: Dr. Patrick Schloss will join the faculty in the Department
of Microbiology in the summer of 2006. Dr. Schloss received his Ph.D. from the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University and did Post-Doctoral research at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the lab of Dr. Jo Handelsman.  Dr. Schloss' research interests include applying statistical and genomics-based tools to understand the ecology of microbial communities found in soils and the gut of fish.
