:: Microbiology Graduate Student Receives
Award for Presentation ::
October 2008: Zarath Summers, a Ph.D. student in the Microbiology Graduate Program, was presented with the Advantus Group Award at the Annual International Conference on Soil, Sediments and Water held October 20-23, 2008 at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. The Advantus Group Award is given for the best student platform presentation at the Conference. Ms. Summers' presentation was entitled "Adaptive Evolution: A Strategy for Better Understanding and Optimizing Environmental Biotechnologies."
