User Accounts
The Biology, Geosciences, and Microbiology departments' servers provide, among other computing needs, email, network printing, and file sharing; access to these services requires an account. These accounts are independent of those available through other entities on campus like OIT or PeopleSoft. Accounts on Biology, Geosciences, and Microbiology servers are managed by College of Natural Sciences computer and network support staff in Morrill (Biology: net@bio.umass.edu; Geosciences: net@geo.umass.edu; Microbiology: net@microbio.umass.edu).
Request an Account
Biology/Microbiology: submit requests for accounts online.
Geosciences: fill out an account request form in the Geosciences business office, Morrill 233.
Activate Printing and File Sharing for Your Account
- All Departments: accounts must be activated in order to access network printer queues and file storage space on departmental servers. One must have an active OIT NetID to be able to activate a Biology, Geosciences, or Microbiology account. Users with an active OIT NetID can activate their Biology, Geosciences, or Microbiology accounts online.
