Kofi Cash Scholarship

The Kofi Cash Scholarship for Independent Research was established by Kofi Cash, who was a Biology major (class of 2000) and a Junior Fellow.

The award recipient must be an undergraduate student who is currently working in a lab in the Biology Department (need not be a Biology Major).

Have a demonstrated enthusiasm for research; applicants will not be penalized for a late start in the research arena.

GPA will not be the sole criterion.

Mr. Cash would like the award to go to a well-rounded student with a passion for research.

One award of $500 is available. Applications for the Kofi Cash Scholarship must be submitted to Dr. Duncan Irschick at irschick@bio.umass.edu no later than April 11, 2016.

Applicants should include letter of support from their advisor and an unofficial copy of their transcripts.
