Project Description :
In the Bartlett lab, we are interested in the molecular underpinnings of plant diversity. Which genes control the development of plants? And how have they changed over the course of evolution? You can learn more about the lab here http://www.bartlettlab.org.
We are seeking a motivated undergraduate to participate in a project on grass flower development with a focus on protein-protein interactions and gene regulatory evolution. Responsibilities will include 1) weekly plant care of corn, barley, and Brachypodium 2) Brachypodium tissue culture 3) bench work including DNA extraction, PCR, genotyping, etc.
Previous lab experience is not required, however a 10 hour a week commitment is. Please include a cover letter with your application that includes your interests and what you hope to gain from the internship.
