Tannin Costa

My name is Tannin Costa, a dual degree undergrad pursuing bachelors degrees in Biology and Psychology. I began my journey at UMass in Fall 2018, entering the Karlstrom lab in Summer 2022 involved with fish feeding and maintenance. Over time I have shifted into a research assistant role, currently investigating larval brain development using hedgehog signal (Shh) mediation via the Heat Shock system. Outside of this, I’ve continued to regularly work in our fishroom, while dabbling in work involving PCR/Gel electrophoresis, cell counting, microscopy, husbandry and more!
