Figure 7.  Sexual dimorphism detectable within individual wild type strains of Drosophila melanogaster.  A.  Relative warp analysis of a thin plate spline comparison of landmarks averages of 55 male and 55 female wings of Porch 88 wild type Drosophila melanogaster. The major difference between the male and female wings is seen to be a small dilation of the distal two-thirds of the wing blade in the male compared to the female. Similar relative warp plots were obtained for wild type strains   B.  Canton S, and C.  U. Tenn. Ag.   A similar difference is seen in D.  Drosophila immigrans.   However, the major difference is not seen in E.
